Aion 2 Names: Elyos & Asmodian Name Ideas by Class (Global Launch)
Updated 2026-10-12
The quickest way to get a good Aion 2 name is to decide your faction first – Elyos names sound bright and flowing, Asmodian names darker and sharper – then match the feel to your class and keep it to one easy-to-type word with letters only. Have two or three backup spellings ready, because popular names go on launch day. Our free Aion 2 name generator does all of this: 20 original names by faction or class, plus alt spellings of the best one.
It's an independent fan tool, not affiliated with NCSoft.
Why naming matters more on a fresh launch
Aion 2, NCSoft's sequel to the 2008 MMORPG, launched globally on PC through Steam and NC's Purple launcher in September 2026. Every new region or server means a wave of players claiming names at the same time. Short, obvious fantasy names disappear first, and a name you love on day one may already be gone by the time you finish character creation. Going in with a list saves a frustrating loop of "name unavailable".
Elyos vs Asmodian naming styles
The two factions of Daevas have a clear visual and sound identity, and names that fit it feel right in a party list.
Elyos – the faction of light and sky:
- open vowels and soft consonants (l, r, n, s, v)
- endings like -iel, -ara, -ion, -ia, -eth
- style examples: Seraviel, Lunaria, Caelion, Elyndra
Asmodians – the faction of shadow:
- hard consonants and sharper syllables (k, z, x, g, th)
- endings like -oth, -ak, -yr, -ax, -ul
- style examples: Kazroth, Vexyra, Morgrak, Zethul
These are style examples to show the sound, not a list of free names – check availability in game.
Name ideas by class
- Gladiator / Templar (melee and tanks): short and strong, easy to shout in group chat – two syllables work best.
- Assassin / Ranger: quick, quiet names with sharp sounds; a hint of the night or hunting fits well.
- Sorcerer / Elementalist: longer, arcane names with an elemental hint (fire, frost, storm, spirit).
- Cleric / Chanter (healers and support): warm and memorable – the whole party will type your name when they need heals.
In the generator, choose the class in the menu and mention your faction in the description ("Asmodian cleric, calm, white hair") to combine both.
Rules of thumb that avoid rejected names
MMO name checks usually reject spaces, numbers, symbols and accented letters, and enforce a length limit. The generator keeps every name to one word of 4 to 12 plain letters for that reason, but the exact rules are set by the game – always test the name at character creation. Also avoid:
- names of official lore characters and NPCs,
- real people and brands,
- anything offensive (it can get a name forcibly changed later).
What to do when your name is taken
Don't fall back on numbers or random extra letters – "Kael1234" looks rushed in a guild roster. Better options:
- Swap a vowel: Kael → Kail, Seren → Siren.
- Double or drop a consonant: Varo → Varro, Lyssa → Lysa.
- Change the ending: Morgan → Morgen, Varo → Varon.
- Try another server if your friends haven't picked one yet.
The generator gives three alt spellings of its strongest name so you can move straight to plan B.
Guild names
The same approach works for guilds: describe your guild's faction and style ("Elyos raiding guild, holy knights" or "Asmodian PvP, night hunters") in the generator and you'll get ideas in a matching sound.
