How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell the story

Who is singing, to whom, and what happened. One moment works better than a whole life.

  2. Step 2

    Pick a genre

Pop, country, rock, R&B, folk or indie each shape the wording and imagery.

  3. Step 3

    Sing it through

Try the lines against your melody and change any word that doesn't fit the rhythm.

Original lyrics with real song structure

This song lyrics generator writes complete, original lyrics in a standard structure: two verses, a repeating chorus and a bridge. That layout makes it easy to drop the words onto a melody, a beat or a chord progression you already have. Songwriters use it to get past writer's block, find a hook line, test how a story sounds in different genres or write a personal song for a wedding, birthday or friend. The lyrics are generated fresh from your description, so the more specific your story, the more personal the song will sound.

How to Get a Stronger Chorus

The chorus is the part people remember, so give the generator something to build it around. A good chorus usually states the song's main feeling in one simple sentence, such as 'I'm not coming back this time' or 'we were young and the radio was loud'. If you already have a title or hook line, put it in your description and ask for the chorus to be built around it.

When you get a result you like, keep the chorus and regenerate only to explore new verses. Repeating the exact same chorus three times is normal and helps listeners sing along.

Fitting Generated Lyrics to a Melody

Lyrics on a page don't always fit the tune in your head. Sing or hum each line and count the stressed syllables; lines in the same position in each verse should feel about the same length. If a line is too long, cut filler words such as 'just', 'really' or 'that'. If it's too short, add an image rather than an extra 'oh'.

Open vowels like 'ah' and 'oh' are easier to hold on long notes, so they work well at the ends of chorus lines. Adjust freely; the words should serve the music.

Originality and Using Your Lyrics

Every set of lyrics is written fresh, and the tool is instructed not to reproduce existing songs or copy a named artist's lyrics. If you want a sound similar to an artist you like, describe the qualities instead, such as 'sparse acoustic, storytelling, small-town details', and you will get original words in that mood.

Before you release a song, do your own check that no line accidentally matches a well-known song, and edit the lyrics so they reflect your own voice. Also check your distributor's or contest's current rules on AI-assisted songwriting.

Frequently asked questions

Is the song lyrics generator free?

New visitors get free credits; signing in adds more. Each generation uses 1 credit. Each set of lyrics is one generation.

Can I use these lyrics in my own song?

Yes, you can use and edit them in your own songs. Before releasing, review the lyrics, make them your own and check your distributor's or platform's rules on AI-assisted content.

Does it write music or chords too?

No, it writes lyrics only. The verse and chorus structure is designed so you can add your own melody, chords or beat.

Can it write lyrics like a specific artist?

It won't copy an artist's lyrics. Describe the genre, mood and themes you like instead and you'll get original lyrics in a similar spirit.

How do I write a personal song for a gift?

Include names, places and two or three shared memories in your description, plus the occasion, for example 'a country song for my parents' 30th anniversary, they met at a county fair'.
