How it works

  1. Step 1

    Choose your image

Pick a JPG, PNG or WebP from your phone or computer, or drop it onto the box.

  2. Step 2

    Set the target size

20 KB is selected; tap another size or type your own. Optionally set a maximum width or height.

  3. Step 3

    Download

The tool finds the best quality that fits under the limit. Check the preview and download the JPG.

Get any photo under 20 KB

Many online forms – exam registrations, job portals, visa and government applications – only accept photos and signatures below a size such as 20 KB. This tool compresses your image to fit: it tries the highest JPEG quality that stays under your limit and, only if that is not enough, reduces the pixel size step by step. You see the final size, dimensions and a preview before you download. All of it happens in your browser, so your photo, ID picture or signature is never uploaded to a server.

Tips for passport photos and signatures

Check the form's rules first: besides the file size, many forms ask for specific dimensions (for example 200 × 230 pixels) or a minimum size such as 10 KB. Enter the required width or height in the max width/height box so the result matches. Crop your photo to the right shape before resizing – a tightly cropped face or signature keeps more detail at 20 KB than a large photo with lots of background. Scan signatures on plain white paper in good light for the cleanest result.

JPG or WebP?

JPG is accepted everywhere and is the safe choice for forms. WebP gives better quality at the same size, but many upload forms still reject it – only choose WebP when you know the website accepts it. Transparent areas of PNG images are filled with white, because JPG does not support transparency.

Other sizes

The same tool works for any limit: tap 10, 30, 50, 100, 200 or 500 KB, or type an exact number. If a form gives the limit in kilobytes as 1000 bytes instead of 1024, choose a slightly smaller target to be safe.

Frequently asked questions

Is my image uploaded anywhere?

No. The resizing runs in your browser with the canvas API. Nothing is sent to a server, and the image is gone when you close the page.

Why is my image smaller than 20 KB, not exactly 20 KB?

The tool picks the best quality that stays under your limit, so the file usually ends up a little below it. That is what forms check for.

Will the photo lose quality?

Some, because 20 KB is small. The tool keeps the highest JPEG quality that fits and only reduces the pixel size when needed. Cropping away background first helps a lot.

Can I resize HEIC photos from an iPhone?

Only in browsers that can open HEIC, such as Safari. Otherwise export or share the photo as JPG first, or set your iPhone camera to 'Most Compatible'.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. Choose a photo from your gallery, resize it and download it, all in the mobile browser.
