How it works

  1. Step 1

    Describe the story

A child's name, a favorite animal and a small problem are enough: 'Leo, 5, loses his red kite at the beach'.

  2. Step 2

    Choose an age group

Ages 2-4 get short repeating lines; ages 6-8 get a little more plot and humor. Bedtime keeps it calm.

  3. Step 3

    Read it, then illustrate

Each page has story text plus an 'Illustration' note you can draw from or paste into an image tool.

A storybook, not just a story

Most AI story tools return one long block of text. A picture book works differently: short pages, one moment per page, and a picture that carries half the story. This generator writes 8 to 10 pages of read-aloud text and adds an illustration note under each page describing what to show, keeping the main character's look the same throughout. Parents use it for a personalized bedtime story, teachers for a quick class read-aloud about a topic, and hobby authors to rough out a picture-book draft before they rewrite it in their own voice. It is free and needs no account.

Make a personalized storybook for your child

Put your child's name, age and one real detail into the idea: the dog's name, a favorite food, a new baby sibling, the first day of school. Small true details make children lean in. Keep the problem small and familiar, such as a lost toy, a scary noise or sharing with a friend, so the ending feels earned and comforting.

Turning the text into a picture book

Use the illustration notes as a shot list. Draw them yourself, ask your child to draw them, or paste each note into an AI image generator, adding the same description of the main character every time so the pictures stay consistent. For printing, put one page of text and its picture on each spread; 8 to 10 spreads is a comfortable length for a homemade book.

Picking the right age group

Ages 2-4: rhythm, repetition and naming things. Ages 4-6: a simple problem, a try that fails, a try that works. Ages 6-8: a bit more vocabulary, a funny side character and a small twist. Bedtime stories slow down at the end; the 'lesson or feelings' option suits stories about fear, anger, sharing or change.

Selling or publishing AI-assisted storybooks

If you plan to publish, treat the result as a first draft: rewrite it in your own words, read it aloud and test it on real children. Check the rules of the platform you publish on, since several self-publishing services ask you to disclose AI-generated text or images.
